16 August 2017
The second trailer to the Ukrainian fantasy feature The Stronghold was published on the Internet in the end of las week. The film itself is to be released on October 12, 2017. It is the most expected Ukrainian premiere of the autumn film distribution and is produced for a wide family audience.
The new trailer opens up the main film plotlines. Let’s recall, this story is about an ordinary boy Victor who goes a thousand years into the past through the magic portal during the sun eclipse, and finds himself in the times of Kyivan Rus. He has to fight shoulder to shoulder with the legendary Bohatyrs against the whole army of Polovtsi headed by the gigantic stone monster.
In the second trailer the viewers will see fragments of the large-scale battle scenes and get to know some of the film locations, including a wooden fortress specially built for the film by artists. Also, the wide audience will be first presented with the scenes featured by a character made solely with computer graphics. The stone monster Holem is a creation of the Ukrainian company Postmodern, which created visual effects for the film Battle for Sevastopol, and has already had a chance to compete for the most prestigious VES world prize together with “Game of Thrones” and “The Revenant”.
“Ourstone Holem was drawn by the best ‘monsters’ of the industry, — laughs Yury Prylypko, the film’s producer, — that’s why it turned out to be up to snuff: frightful, gigantic, and invulnerable. We hope that our character will evoke a huge emotional response among the viewers”.
The trailer also includes episodes with the participation of Oleh Mykhailyuta (Fagot, TNMK), who played the role of the stronghold watchman in the fantasy. The musician’s participation in the film will not be limited by this cameo: he is recording a soundtrack at the moment.
“For us, this isn’t only an incredible experience, but in general – this is the next stage in the development of Ukrainian viewer genre cinema. And we are sure that our viewer will certainly not regret buying a ticket and watching “The Stronghold” in the cinema. We are waiting for everyone starting from October, 12!”, – comments Egor Olesov, the producer of the film.
“We’ve produced a film that will be interesting both for children and adults, — says Yury Kovaliov, the film’s director, — and despite the fact that “The Stronghold” is a film that I know everything about, it was interesting for me to watch the trailer. By the way, I assure you, the most exciting stuff was left outside the video, and what exactly — we’ll see pretty soon, this autumn”.
The film based on the book by Volodymyr Rutkivskyi is produced by Kinorob with the support of the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema. Co-producer of the motion picture: Novy TV Channel. Distribution in Ukraine: Ukrainian Film Distribution.
